Setting Up Your Google Mail Web Server E-mail IDs in Microsoft Outlook 2007 |
This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your
e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2007, but
these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set
up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this
tutorial. |

To Set Up Your Google Mail Web Server E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook |

In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools > Accounts Settings...
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

On the Accounts Settings wizard window, in "E-mail" tab select "New" and click Next.
|

|
|

Now in Add New E-mail Account window tick on "Manualy configure server settings or addtional server types" and click Next.
|

|
|
|
|
|

For your POP3 server type, select "Internet E-mail " and click Next. |

On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as
follows: |
|
Your Name
Enter the name you would like the recipient to see before the email id. It may be your first name, last name, both or department name. e.g. Sandip Sonawane
|
|
|
|
E-mail Address
Enter your complete e-mail address. e.g. ss@goradiainfotech.com
|
|
|
|
Account Type
Select POP3 Account Type |
|
|
|
Incoming mail server (POP3)
Enter pop.gmail.com for your incoming mail server. |
|
|
|
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Enter smtp.gmail.comfor your outgoing mail server. |
|
|
|
User Name
Enter your complete e-mail address. e.g. ss@goradiainfotech.com, again. |
|
|
|
Password
Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account. |
|
|
|
Remember password
Please select "Remember password" option to remember your password on your computer.
Secure Password Authentication
Make sure the box near "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is Unchecked. |

Click "More Settings".

On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Genaral" tab. enter your information as
follows
|
|
Mail Account
Enter the name you would like to refer to this account. It may be your first name, last name, both or department name. e.g. Sandip_Goradia_Infotech
|

|
|
Organization
Enter your company name. e.g. Goradia Infotech |
|
|
|
Reply E-mail
Enter the E-mail ID where you would like to recive the reply.
e.g. ss@goradiainfotech.com
|

On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
|
|
Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
|
|
If you did not change the SMTP relay section, select "Use same settings as
my incoming mail server". If you changed the user name and password in the
SMTP relay section of your Manage Email Accounts page, select "Log on using"
and enter the user name and password. The following example assumes you did
not change your SMTP relay section in your Manage Email Accounts page.

Select the "Advanced" tab and verify the "Incoming server (POP3)" port to
995 and Outgoing server (SMTP)" port to
587. The type of encryption should be TLS Increase. Server Timeouts to 6 minutes or more.

In delivery option select "Leave a copy of messages on the server".
If u wish to, store your messages on the server for a specific period only, kindly select "Remove from server" option & enter the number of days you would like to store your messages. Please note all old messages beyond the selected period will be automatically deleted from the server.
Click OK. |
